Easy untapped small business marketing tactics.

By: Joe White

Small business marketing is a passion of mine! It is super fun especially when you start to see results. When a customer says "I saw you on top of Google and went to your website, then I did a search on YouTube and you came up 1st there, then I called a sign on the side of the road, that was you too, I figured i had no choice where I was going to buy... Who does your small business marketing? and you say, I do... It makes you feel good..
Getting your business or website listed on the 1st page of Google really is much easier than you think...It just takes some face time with the computer. You can get a major start in a weekend and see the results of your small business marketing online in days..
There is a friend of mine that owns a business near mine and as a result of using these simple ideas was listed on the 1st page of Google in 2 days. He landed a $3600 job as a result of his efforts. This small business marketing stuff not rocket science, it's just following what works.
If you are looking for small business marketing ideas, in specific geographical locations, then Google Local is quick and easy way to start. This is the listing on the top of google when you search for a local listing like (Hot Tubs Minneapolis) there is a map on the left with businesses on the right. Google Local is a great website marketing strategy because, its easy, free and fast.
There are a few tricks I have figured out over the years with Google Local , like how to show up for more than just one city. This is the best place to start for online small business marketing for local results.
Google Pay Per Click (PPC) is another avenue if you are looking for great small business marketing ideas or as Napoleon Dynamite might say "sweet website marketing strategies". Don't let the PPC scare you you can start to increase website traffic in about an hour and get started for $5. You can also choose where you want to show up by zip code up to state and country.
Google PPC allows you to write many ads and that rotate and Google tracks the views vs the clicks this is known as the click through rate. Then you know what ads are working and which are not. Then you delete the bad ones and keep trying to improve. You also set a budget anywhere from $5 per day and up or set a monthly budget lets say $300... Pay Per Click has been a huge part of my online small business marketing...
I started using Google PPC in January of 2005 and since then have spent $51,000 with them and it is by far the most profitable tool I have discovered in my small business marketing. It is very easy to get started. Just take the time and do it nothing will ever happen if you don't act. The internet is here to stay so you might as well jump on board. Then you too can get a Christmas card from Google. I have spent $51k with them and have never talked to anyone who even works for Google. Thats cool... Just get crackin and include this in your small business marketing bag of tricks...
