Starbucks, maybe you have heard of it, a popular little coffee shop that has stained a permanent ring into the veneer of our society. It has become more iconic than McDonalds as a representation of the American lifestyle.
  • The bird  By : Robet Jay
Living in the country we have come to expect seeing different species of animals. Deer occasionally grace our presence. Of course, once we are seen by them they quickly disappear. One day as I was looking out a back window there were 7 or so wild turkey. After flying away, they have not returned. Many different birds come to our three feeders. Sunflower seed is spread on the ground for the doves and squirrels. Cardinals and smaller birds also search for food on the ground but the smaller ones mostly enjoy the feeders with their perches. We started throwing it on the ground to keep squirrels from eating the plastic off our original bird feeders. Now we have "squirrel proof" feeders that do a good job of keeping them from the food contained within.

  • Lost in the Arthouse  By : James Gilbert Pynn.
I would like, if I may, to say a few words about something that is very near and dear to my heart: art. Im not talking about scissors and construction paper art, mind you. Im talking about a type of art that is miles and away superior. Im talking about crayons and markers and coloring books. Im talking about free-flowing, jaw-dropping works of pure expressionism. Im talking about work so good, youve got to put it on a shirt " that kind of awesome-ness cant be found in any old place and certainly not in some kindergarten class.

  • Ecards Warm the World  By : James Gilbert Pynn.
Most warm-blooded mammals enjoy receiving gifts. Thanks to the cold, electrical grid of fiber optics cable crisscrossing our globe, we can now send all our friends and enemies birthday ecards. Send what, you say! Send ecards. On their birthdays. Dont rely on the postal system to get anything right (though they do a pretty god job of it). Cut your stress time in half and free up some of your precious time. Wasting time sending a birthday car two weeks early? Forget it! You can send ecards on the frigid day!
  • Riddles and indirect-thinking  By : Alex Gensker
Some riddles are a form of indirect-thinking question. To answer them, you have to move laterally in your mind, away from the expected guesses. This is especially true of funny riddles. What did the others do when the cannibal was late for dinner? They gave him the cold shoulder, of course.
  • Experiments on pigs  By : Albert Hennet
It's well-known for now that by injecting fetal pig embryos with phosphorescent dyes the adult pigs will have green skin and glow in the dark. All I can say about this is: Yeah, what an excellent research! It is even difficult for me to count the number of times I needed to find my home pig in the midnight and I had to struggle to find my glasses and turn on a light. This will sure be a huge time saver for me, I can tell you, now that I can get a pig that will shine as bright as day.
  • Laugh Out Loud: Then Cry  By : Herbert Reich
Digital media refers to electronic media. Digital media is the opposite of analogue media. Images, animations, texts, and videos you see on your computer are made of digital media, whereas analogue media are drawings, writings, or sketches on paper or any other media that are not on computer. The digital media is based on binary numeral system, with "1" and "0" representing true and false, respectively. Computers interpret these binary data as information and then represent the information in forms of images, animations, or texts on your monitor. However, computers may also interpret other codes such as ASCII, where a series of binary codes is being interpreted into 2-digit codes.
  • Funny Ecards Split Seams  By : Herbert Reich
Electronic greeting cards are called e-cards. These are typically images or pictures along with personal messages and they can be sent by email. Compared to paper greeting cards e-cards are definitely more versatile, this is due to the digital nature of the contents that enables them to be sent to more than one recipient at once. E-cards can be personalized in many ways and also they can be saved on media storage devices such as flash drives or compact discs or in the computer itself. Since no paper is used to make these e-cards they are more environmentally friendly too.

  • The Cartoonist Who Couldn't Draw Well  By : Rick London
Since I launched my cartoon business a decade ago, many have asked me how to get into cartooning, or some similar artistic endeavor, especially if, like me, art is not their strongest skill. Before I entered "the trade", I too, was curious about how a number seemed to "sneak in" these so called "glamour-fields" and many were no better artists than me, and I am no Picasso.
  • Those Murderous Cows  By : Rick London
I'm a bovine author. Name is Truman Cowpoke and I write mooder mysteries. I write about the life of cows, violence, and yes, even bovine death. Words cannot express the horror I feel, as a mystery writer of true cow crime while researching the death and destruction that can occur in "greener pastures". Of course there are no cowincidences and anyone who says there are may just be udderly silly and full of b.s.

Must we really laugh to be healthy?? How important is humor in our lives? For many years, we knew humor was fun, and laughter made us feel better, but we didn't know the full story. Recent studies at University Of Md. Medical School point towards laughter being not just important, but pertinent to our physical well being in the home and workplace, not to mention social arena.
  • Pets Can't Afford Lawyers So They Have Us  By : Rick London
Since our pets cannot afford lawyers so we have to be their advocates. Much has been discussed regarding the B.A.R.F. diet for pets, but still very little research behind it. I happen to know it works as I almost had my 12 year old stray mutt put to sleep in 1996, at age 12, at the veterinarian's suggestion, but decided to research a bit more myself before making such an important decision. He lived another 10 years (to age 22), vet-free, except to the very part of his happy life. He was an amazing creature, and the b.a.r.f. diet, and a lot of love and attention provided for that.

  • How Bono (Of the band U2) And His Wife Ali Launched My Green Biz  By : Rick London
I owe Bono (of the band U2) and his wife Ali a tremendous thank you for helping me launch my business. The great irony is, they probably will never read this, and will never know what they did for me. But what they are doing for the planet, with Edun Organics is not only a business they launched, of organic cotton textiles to make eco-friendly clothing, but (at the risk of sounding overly-dramatic) a gift to humanity.
  • Any Size Business Can Help The Environment And Profit More!  By : Rick London
The transition to start a "green business" or "eco-friendly" one, as it is often called, is not always as easy as it seems. I felt it would be an easy challenge for me, seeing that I had launched one of Mississippi's first health food stores. There was no Internet, no Google, no blogging, nothing. I paid high rent in a mall across from the local university. The local townsfolk felt I might be possessed to believe that natural products might be better than what could be bought at A & P Grocery. (I am showing my age here).
